This is a minor suggestion but wouldn't be hard to implement (and shouldn't have any negative consequences?)
In jconsole and jhs the Up/Down arrows cycle backwards/forwards through the Command history (sensible) In jgtk and jwd the Up/Down arrows move the cursor up and down through the Session history (sensible), to cycle backwards and forwards through the Command history Ctrl+Shift+up/down arrows are used (fine). It would make switching between JFEs easier to have some keyboard shortcut standardization between JFEs. It wouldn't be sensible/desirable (because of the different UI paradigms) to have either current method become the "standard" way of cycling backwards/forwards through Command history. What would be possible though, is for Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down arrows to work on jhs and jconsole *in addition* to the bare up/down arrows. The only potentially negative consequence I can see is that the Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down arrows will not be available for some other function on jhs or jconsole however, unless that other function was compelling, it would probably be undesirable to create additional differences in the JFE UIs anyway. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
