I think the problem you are seeing is part of the nature of JHS. Output is
not 'pumped' to the  jijx window. Instead it is logged as state information
in the J session. You need to do an interaction in the jijx window (hit
enter for example) and you will get all the back info.

The jijx window could run a timer and periodically request new input but
this is slightly against 'normal' browser behavior. The idea is that the
user is in control, not the system.

It takes getting used to, but I find now that it works for me.
