I think it is a mistake to drop J.exe like this. I think it would be better to let it continue without further development until other ides can replace it.
Letting each user try to mix things together will only bring on confusion. J.exe is a superb product and the other new ides jhs and gtk need a long time and lot of adjustments in documentation for new as well as existing users to make the change. If I may make a suggestion then I would say that J.exe will be better off to be fased out during several months/years in unchanged functionality and as conversion tools/docs becomes available. JHS and GTK may well be good enough technically for experts but for ordinary users I am sure it is definitely a bit too much of a leap.
