Bad news about that idea of jgtk working independently of Gimp; when I
change the name of Gimp to Gimpxx or anything, jgtk no longer works.
You may not remember that I am not launching with the jgtk701 greenJ
icon, but by typing directly into the unix console `open-x11
~/j701/bin/jgtk.command` so this is really a workaround. So I won't be
uploading the files, right?

But, again, I don't understand the result of using `-R` option in the
cp command and that may be what is keeping the files I copied tied or
linked to the Gimp directory. Should I try a different option to see
if that unties the two?
