Yes, unfortunately gtk does not look like a native mac application. Remember that J7 has changes so that a front end can be written completely in J, using any toolkit. It should be possible to write an ide in cocoa, or modify an existing one for J. The core part of this would be to get a J terminal session working - i.e. load a text control in J and handle events to allow it to work like the old J6 ijx session or new gtk term window.. The event handling logic could be identical with that in J gtk.
