What a sharp eye you have! I would never ever have noticed that the JHS icon is red for the launcher but blue on browser tabs.
The only icon I have of a suitable type for favicon is blue. Not sure where it came from, but as you are the icon master it was likely you. If I were to change favicon to red I'd need a new browser ico file. What I would rather do is change the JHS launcher icons (windows and mac) to blue. This is a slightly easier change for me to make and I would rather have the quiet blue than the noisy red. In my mind the red is still associated with java and those memories are not my favorite. So, unless people complain, the next installers will be JHS blue all over.
