Here are more details of my testing:

I tested on two Win7_64 systems with IE8_32 and IE8_64.  I saw the some message 
box in all cases.

I tried to test on my work WinXP_32 system with IE7.  I installed J701_32 
clean, 
with full GTK and all addons. I started off with Firefox and got into the IJS 
Edit window.  I went to IE7, connected with JHS and browsed to the directory of 
the file that was open in Firefox.  I could not get an edit window to open at 
all.  Neither double-click nor Action->Edit with the file selected would open 
the Edit window.  I could not edit any file from JHS on my work PC with IE7.  I 
suspect the corporate IE settings are preventing whatever you do for file 
editing.

I also tried with IE8_32 on WINXP_32 on my personal machine.  It got the 
message 
box also.
