Slimserver currently only supports the configuration of a single music folder, but within that you can put shortcuts to other folders. That's a FAQ that comes up all the time. The scanner split has this in mind. See comments on my enhancement request 3673. The idea of this enhancement request was that if multiple music folders were configurable, then there could be an option with each configured path to specify the default scan type to perform for that folder.
How this fits in with multiple libraries is a little unclear. It would be nice to specify one or more music folders for each library, but different libraries could point to a shared music folder. Eg: "Phil's Music" library may contain "M:\Music\Phil" and "M:\Music\Shared". "Alex's Music" library may contain "M:\Music\Alex" and "M:\Music\Shared". However, you wouldn't necessarily want slimserver to rescan the shared folder twice. So, I think slimserver would have: 1. a configurable list of folders to scan (implemented currently by shortcuts in the slimserver music folder). 2. a list of libraries, where each library consists of a list of folders (which erland is offering to implement in a plugin that filters the whole slimserver library by url).
