As I mentioned, the prudent thing to do is first go back to iTunes 7.1.1
or 7.1.2.

You should be able to find it. But if you can't, even though it's a
large-ish file at nearly 80MB, I am willing to zip it up and put it
online for you to download.

Make sure you're using SlimServer from June 12th or later (my
experience so far is positive with it - I'm also running on Mac OS
10.4.9)

With SlimServer stopped, load iTunes and let it scan your library, make
sure everything looks ok, close iTunes.

If you have SlimServer installed under your current user, go to:
~/Library/Caches and delete the SlimServer folder there. ("~" being
your user name)

Start SlimServer - it will automatically rebuild its database.

If things still look odd you may have to do a little repair work. Go
to the affected tracks in iTunes, put a long temporary string into
their ALBUM ARTIST field and press OK. Go back to those tracks and
replace that string with the correct ALBUM ARTIST. You can also try
selecting ALL your tracks and modifying some tag you don't currently
use to force the tags to be refreshed. Then modify it back in a second
operation.
