Try a little experiment: Play with the new Default skin for a little while, then go back and use Classic. To me it's like walking out of a noisy room. The mouseover highlighting stuff is actually stressful. Just my opinion, of course.
Have you ever seen a web forum where mousing over a topic will pop up the first 100 or so characters of the first post? I find that to be very annoying, similar to the experience of using this skin. Having to worry (consciously or unconsciously) about how you move your mouse across the screen to avoid a lot of visual noise is _not_ enjoyable. The one thing I really like is the fantastic status panel. The collapsing info feature is a particularly nice treatment. I'll mention again, though, that there's little reason to display the bitrate when streaming a lossless format. Something that should be reconsidered is using Ajax to display the My Music page. It breaks standard 'Back' button behavior, which is another interface annoyance. If you're browsing Artists and do a 'Back', then you're taken to the Home page. I realize the skipped browse level can be regained through the cookie crumb navigation, but it doesn't make sense to break standard browser behavior for very little or no reason. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37848 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
