Sadly switching between skins still results in a mess that requires a browser shutdown to correct.
When switching skins can you try 1 of the following. Change the hyperlink within "Your skin is now Default. Click here to refresh and see the new skin." from localhost:9000 to javascript:window.location.reload(true); which I believe forces a refresh from the server and invalidates the browser cache.
