I can just say that it works here on a CS-406, a DS-107+ and a DS-207. However, I scanned the library weeks ago and just do an update scan every night to include podcasts I download regularely.
I'd try to run the server and/or scanner manually with suitable debug flags (see ssods.pdf and ssods.conf, the wiki etc.).
