What you suggest works, and the share mounts but is not visible to
squeezecenter.  This is almost certainly due to some problem cifs has
with the NSLU.  I get the same effect with cifs from another PC which
works ok using smbfs.

I am not overly concerned about it, and ISc works as you intended, and
the problem would not occur if the music was transferred onto the hard
drive.

My vm setup uses 2GB vHD only.
