It's certainly possible that SC7 isn't processing genre tags with the correct utf8 translation. I don't have any genre tags with fancy characters myself, so I'm not in a position to confirm this. But, if you are confident in your tagging, I would encourage you to file a bug report at bugs.slimdevices.com.
