I still maintain squeezeslave.

I use the windows and solaris sparc versions all day every day at the
office and it just works for me. At home I have 3 SB3s so I only use
squeezeslave occasionally on an old laptop in my work room. I suspect
the problems with internet radio is related to the audio output being
locked at 44.1 in squeezeslave. It's on my TODO list to remove that
restriction, but as it doesn't impact my day to day usage, it's not a
high priority and you can resample audio formats to 44.1 using
custom-convert.conf for the squeezeslave player, if it's an issue.

There have been several additional features added to the linux version
since 0.8.12 was released. In fact I uploaded a patch for a couple
issues just a couple of days ago and I'm currently trying to track down
what appears to be a race condition in the alsa portaudio library
version 0.8.24. No one has expressed any interest in having the new
features ported back to the windows version and the current source is
always available on sourceforge if someone really wants the new
features. I've branched the source for squeezeslave from the
slimdevices svn at rev 23425 as I didn't want the code lost as SD is
continuously removing older versions of SC from the repository.
