Sorry for reopening this old thread.
I recently decided to update SqueezeCenter and got the same problem
with my Beta Controller ("invalid mac address or uuid"). I contacted
Logitech Support and they gave me an RMA number to return the
Controller.
And then the fun and games began. Having spoken to DHL, they tell me
that customs will charge duty on sending it to the USA, *and* when it
comes back to me. When I said "but it's a faulty item being returned
for repair", they said that made no difference.
So, I reckon if I can locate or build a suitable serial cable it'll
probably be easier to just fix the problem myself. Does anyone know
where I can acquire the necessary cable? Failing that, is the connector
a standard one (and is there any documentation around describing the pin
assignment)?
Alternatively, is there anyone in the UK who has this cable and would
be willing to lend it to me for a short period?
