I don't really know anything about UUIDs, and a quick perusal of wikipedia suggests there are several kinds.
Like you, I'm not a user of SqueezeNetwork, so I guess it's not necessary to have a UUID that's approved by Slim Devices. Is it good enough to just concatenate some random bits on the end of the MAC address?
