I just tried to resurrect my old Controller first beta and came across this same problem. Presumably, in the absence of suitable widgets referred to above and certainly any appropriate technical skill, it's not worth risking buying a battery and charger for this?
I think I shall recycle it appropriately - unless there is anyone who thinks they can use it, if so PM me and I will send within the UK FOC.
