The additional repos bit is always going to be an issue if Logitech want
to vet what is included in the default "recommended" list. For one
reason or another not all plugins were deemed suitable for including in
the recommended list and I would think that this will always continue -
i.e. there will be plugins which logitech don't want to link to or
recommend. Hence I think we need a simple way to allow authors to
distribute their plugins if they do not make this list. (I also see the
3rd party repo as useful for low volume beta tests etc)

I think this is really down to logitech policy - it would be trivial to
have a "recommend 3rd party plugin" list and a "all 3rd party plugins"
list which includes all repos linked from the wiki. However
automatically pulling in data from the wiki is dangerous as it can be
spammed and at the extreme subverted to link to harmful plugins.

What may be more possible is to include a directory of all plugins from
known (and trusted) plugin authors. Hence the user will see:

- logitech's own plugin list
- recommended 3rd party plugins
- all third party plugins (from known & trusted authors)

The potential problem with the latter is the one of whether logitech
wants to recommend plugins from all of us... I will leave Dean/Andy to
comment on this...

[I can implement the 3rd list trivially - its agreeing what the policy
for inclusion on it should be...]

BTW - I'm planning some more back end changes and hopefully we can also
clean up the plugins/extension downloader separation too in the near
future. Its also worth remembering that the repos hold applets for
download to the controller too - so it would be good to see more 3rd
party lua applets...
