Thanks for Your help first.

Before I try to point out a little clearer, some answers:
- I'm using 7.4 (most recent nightly) (7.3.4 resp. the MySQL did always
crash the database)
- No, I'm not using a custom tag but the "BAND"/TPE2-Tag (I know it as
"ALBUMARTIST" though ;))

BUT:

Quote:
Obviously you're using Mp3tag (...) . These are Mp3tag's _internal_
field names. They map to ID3v2 frames for MP3 files, but they do NOT map
to anything in FLAC files. You're getting a literal ITUNESCOMPILATION
field in your FLAC tags, not the desired COMPILATION field. (...) For
FLAC files, use the actual field names.)

Yes, I'm really using Mp3Tag BUT - I've got MP3-files no FLAC's. Maybe
some sort of misunderstanding? So I thought, ARTIST and/or ALBUMARTIST
(resp. BAND) should be useful as well as the "ITUNESCOMPILATION"-tag.

If I understand You right, it would be better to leave the ARTISTSORT
empty in EVERY file (or to fill it in every file - much work to do...)
and then the server should use the ALBUMARTIST/Band-TAG, right?

One final things is not clear to me:
WHEN or WHY do I need a full rescan instead of an update scan?

Quote:
Especially if:
1) You change compilation tags.
2) You change sort order tags.

Does that mean, I have to do a full rescan after every album I added
using the compilation tag = 1? Or/and after adding a ARTISTSORT (if I
have to...)? And for my interest: Why? I thought, the scanner recognizes
this by update-scan? Much work to do, an update scan takes 15 to 30
minutes, a rescan a few hours (more than 80.000 tracks).

One last thing:
Tonight I got informed ("by bugzilla") the bugfixes in the scanner are
moved from 7.4 to 8.0. What does this mean? No more bugfix in the SQLite
right now - or is 7.4 just renamed to 8.0 and still "work in progress"?

Many thanks again

Frank
