OK. Here is what I have just done. Ripped a new track into iTunes 9 as an MP3. iTunes reports a SoundCheck value of -3.0. Re-scan SC library. Track appears, but in SC song info Volume Adjustment reported as -8.35. Then I ran the track through iVolume. iVolume adjusts volume to -3.2. This new value is reported correctly in iTunes. Re-scan SC and now SC reports -3.2 too.
So something funny is going on. I am sure in the previous case I tried after importing SC initially reported no volume adjustment info at all. Can't repeat this now, but this time it reported a seemingly random very different number.
