Yes I know the reset is supposed to be by holding the plus sign. On
another thread discussing controller problems, it was mentioned that
taking out the battery and then holding the "volume up" until the
program boots up when replacing it will cause a controller software
rollback.

It did seem to work at first, but then the controller seemed to reset
itself to the newer firmware. That's when I went through the procedure
described above.
