>I agree completely. At this point the only solution for those of us >driven crazy by the inconsistency is simple: stick with SqueezeCenter >7.3, and don't buy a Radio or Touch player. > Well, I've kept up to date with the latest beta versions (currently 7.5.0), and I survive because my classic players have not been affected by touch-to-play (yet).
I avoid Radio and Touch interfaces because of silly decisions like the implementation of touch to play and the context menu, so the players are on and work, but I generally control them from the web UI instead. If classic players ever took the backwards step to make consistent with Radio/Touch interfaces, I would seriously think that enough is enough and stick with the release prior to that point, or have to hack the code to unmerge that change. >I fear that Logitech thinks >the pool of current customers is small enough that this isn't a >significant (business) problem. It certainly appears that Logitech is >trying to do as little work as possible on the old, pre-SqueezePlay >players, and the maddening UI inconsistency is a result of that >decision. > I have that fear too. I also have the fear that beta testers views are not taken seriously these days; users from focus groups are more instrumental in the future direction, and logitech managers are enforcing particular developments without first listening to feedback. _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
