I raised bug 13602 (https://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13602) about alarm settings, way back in August last year, which captured the first discussions about alarms in a beta forum. This was before there was any work done on alarms (no popup then, or any way to snooze). The intention was such that this covered cases where people want music to come on at alarm time, via the alarm settings, to define what happens when the alarm fires, to ensure the mechanism was flexible. This was marked as out of scope for 7.5, and targetted for 8.0. Fair enough. But then it was hijacked by someone suggesting that there were 3 options; snooze, stop, continue, which later turned into the dialog approach that we have today. There have been SVN checkins associated with this bug, to do with the dialog display, which will be in before 8.0. This was not what my bug was raised about, and hopefully it won't get closed when the changes are officially released. I think it could be harder to change the approach flexibility of it later, if the current mechanism is coupled too closely to the underlying alarm mechanism.
