Naaa, it's not a different thing; it's the same thing, just different UI 
presentation.  Why should "playback timer" have a start and stop time, and an 
alarm a start time and timeout length?  It results in the same thing, even if 
the UI presentation is different.

There is a bug/enhancement to re-introduce per-alarm settings 
(https://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9329, and I thought another one 
that is more generic, but can't find it) for alarm timeout, snooze and volume.  
This used to be the case for SB classic players, but was changed to per-player 
alarm settings a year or so ago.
