A few points: 1) not a network share - its a USB disk connected directly to my SBS server PC (drive D) 2) I have the auto rescan option turned OFF I'm running with SQL Lite (hence the speed improvements - 30 mins to do a full rescan of 32k tracks vs 1.5 hours with MySQL!)
