Hm, thanks for Your ideas. The one I could imagine: yes, most Folder.jpg are hidden (and write protected) but that has been no problem at all in 7.5.x. I already went back to 7.5 and as You say I don't have the time for experiments ;) (even for 7.6 uses much MORE system resources than 7.5 while scannning), so I have two questions before I try:
1. If I "unlock" the Folder.jps and do an update scan in 7.6 (I own a backup of saturdays attempts) - will cover art be rescanned although the files are already in database (in 7.5 I needed to do a rescan :( ) 2. Where does the o.gif (or 0.gif ) with red cross result from.
