I have the same problem with the latest SqueezePlay 7.6 nightly beta on Windows 7. It does not work from a different subnet. I looked at the packets and I see it try the broadcast, and then it goes direct to the IP. The server then responds but SqueezePlay does not connect.
I installed an older version I had, 7.4 r0 and it works fine. It's playing music right now over my VPN.
