I can agree that from an outside perspective it has felt a bit strange
during the last year or two but I suspect the big difference are some
organizational changes and that more development happens behind closed
doors today while it earlier was made in the open unless there was an
explicit need to hide it to avoid leaking new hardware products. It's a
changed strategy and IMHO it's bad for the community, but not
necessarily for the company. However, it's the choice Logitech
intentionally or unintentionally has made and there is nothing we can
do about it.
These days it seems/feels like Logitech is mainly relying on internal
testing instead of using the community for testing. Due to this I've
also personally lost the interest to report bugs, if they want my help
they will have to show it.
However, all this doesn't mean I've lost the interest for the
Squeezebox products, they are still the best products in their category
available on the market and the level of communication we have with
Logitech developers is still better than most other big companies. It's
still sometimes a bit frustrating because we know how good it worked
before, but there isn't much we can do to change that. We just have to
face the fact that a small company like Slim Devices isn't the same
thing as a big corporation like Logitech.
