I completely agree, the only benefit of SQLite is from a
support/maintenance perspective. Less problems with antivirus software
and less maintenance for Logitech since they can use the same database
in Touch built-in server and the desktop version.

only time I perform scanning is when I add new music and that certainly
doesn't happen 10 times a day.

I just wished they would select one database on the desktop and not try
to spend time to support two different databases. If they select the
SQLite database as default database on the desktop, I would prefer if
they spend the time adding music related features instead of spending
time supporting MySQL as an alternative database for us geeks.
