is this on the touch or what? maniac103;596031 Wrote: > I can probably re-tag with picard, making the album artist empty (is > 'empty album artist tag' equal to 'no album artist tag' in SBS?), but I > don't think I'm the only one tagging compilations with 'Various Artists' > as album artist. afaik, a blank frame is the same as no frame. and you are correct, almost everything fills in AA, comp or not, except itunes, which last i checked leaves AA blank, but uses a comp tag instead. (EAC doesn't do AA either, but it might be possible to get it to, and its a small niche app anyway) the SBS "logic" of making decisions on comp status based on the existence, or not, of AA tags is imo, dopey and mostly useless except for a tiny minority of users, b/c except for EAC rips, everything will have AA tags or comp tags. maniac103;596031 Wrote: > Do you have an example for a compilation that has a clearly defined > album artist? 'Best of' albums could be one, but from my POV, that > would be an album, not a compilation... it depends how you define what a comp is. a comp could be a greatest hits as you said of a single artist, but SBS doesn't think so. SBS says that if an album has ANY mismatch of the artist frame on even only one track, thats a comp, period. so all you can do at that point is either set explicit comp tags one way or the other, or set AA tags, or both. -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 & sbc (my home) / sbrec & ipeng (parents' home) - sbs 7.5.2b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - p4(ht) 3.2ghz, 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 - 45k+ mp3 ::VOTE FOR 'BUG 15604' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15604)!!!:: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75308 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
