also... i use AA tags to place things where i want them sorted/grouped. i do "Beatles tribute" for VA albums, and occassionally non VA albums that nonetheless are beatles tributes. its not a hard and fast rule tho, the hard and fast rule, such as it is, is that i put things where i think i would expect to find it first, but that can (and does) change over time.
if i put ALL my comps into one huge VA category, that would be a giant sucky unsorted mess. the AA tags allow me to place things where i want to find them, and thin out the VA CDs so that category is not so bloated. but the bigger point here, isn't what approach is "correct" b/c thats frankly dopey to argue over. everyone has their own approach and most of them are valid even if they differ. the bigger point is that SBS should by now, easily be able to accommodate that fact! EVERY OTHER APP i have used does and can, only SBS has these troubles, b/c its so poorly designed and inflexible in THIS area of how it works. (and i believe that came to be, b/c as far as i can tell, SBS was designed from the very first lines of code to be compliant with itunes methods, and was basically ignorant of everything else, and didn't care about "other ways.") -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 & sbc (my home) / sbrec & ipeng (parents' home) - sbs 7.5.2b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - p4(ht) 3.2ghz, 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 - 45k+ mp3 ::VOTE FOR 'BUG 15604' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15604)!!!:: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75308 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
