I decided to give 7.6 a try. Without using plugin functionality it seems quite fast with SQLite. I use however mainly Custom Browse menus, specifically Dynamic Mixed Tag menu, with Multi Library. I have 4 menu entries: Composer, Genre, Artists (includes Band, Conductor, Artists) When I browse as follows: first Composer, then choose Genre, I get response times after submitting Genre, which very much depend on the number of albums or tracks to be scanned in the database. There is lot of Beethoven, JS Bach in my library, much less CPE Bach and Faure: Response times in seconds, using web interface. Composer | Genre | MySQL | SQLite Faure | Chambermusic | 3.5 | 5.0 CPE Bach | Flute | 2.2 | 2.4 Beethoven | Piano | 3.9 | 66 JS Bach | Cantata | 4.8 | >300, restarted server
I set dbhighmem to 1, but this made no difference in SQLite. My test server has a dual core Atom, running under Ubuntu server 10.04, not super fast, but also not a NAS. Clearly my preference at this moment is for MySQL. If I can help optimizing the SQLite performance, I will gladly try to help, because apparently Logitech will not actively support MySQL any more in the future. -- Co1 Co van Winsum ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Co1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34002 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88627 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
