It is an improvement to keep in! The case I mentioned in the OP: Beethoven>Piano, now takes 14.9 s, 4x as fast than it was. The endless JS Bach>Cantatas, now takes 24.9 s Still quite long. However, with the patch, that I have sent earlier, applied on 2.8.3363: Beethoven>Piano takes 4.3 s, JS Bach>Cantatas, takes 4.9 s If there is no difference in your setup from the patch, maybe the library content plays a role. I have 4600 tracks, 35 genres, only 144 artists. I have a Classical and Pop (multi)library, 4240/360 tracks respectively. Many albums are <no artist>, because I only use the artist tag for soloists. In Squeezebox server the artist tag gets special treatment. Could this be the cause for the differences?
