Probably has changed in 7.6. Remember that scanning in 7.6 is based on that of the embedded server from the Touch, not on the scanner used in 7.5. > i.e. I thought that all track deletions were done first, and then > additions/updates, and then it merged songs into compilation albums, > and deleting obsolete items (eg. if a genre is no longer needed), etc. The last would be a 'clean up' type of operation. I'm not sure 7.6 has any of those now, or if these cleanups are done on the fly. > I wonder whether this sort of scale of change works better with 7.5.x > than 7.6, and what the effect will be for SBS if auto-rescan is enabled > in 7.6. It may very well work faster in 7.5. Overall, I think that scanning in 7.6 works much better at making sure there aren't anomalies in the database. I don't know how or if autorescan works well at all in 7.6 in conjunction with manual scanning. AFAIK, the Touch's server doesn't have manual scanning while the server is running. That's just one of the reasons why I think much of what happens in 7.6 is still largely untested. -- JJZolx ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88639 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
