Apparently the scanner isn't hung up. It completes, but for some reason
it appears to have stop sending progress notifies to the server. (Why
doesn't the scanner just update the progress table directly?) After it
completed, the progress indicator for 'Scanning new music files' is
stuck at 1709 of 32594 files, and the timer keeps ticking.
