I agree regarding this except that I think currently most tablets are
used within the home and not outside the home. I rarely bring my iPad
somewhere else, usually it's either inside the house or in the garden.
You can see the estimated tendencies in the article I posted in
previous post:
- Tablets are going to increase market shares
- Desktops are going to decrease market shares
- Laptop and Netbook/NetTop stays about same levels as today.

I believe most people don't have any problems with the screen on a
laptop these days. The laptop also have so many advantages compared to
a NetTop and few normal people are going to invest in both a laptop and
a NetTop. People want to be mobile also inside the home, they want to
easily be able to move between different rooms, and easily be able to
put the computer away when it isn't used, to be able to do that they
need at tablet for easy access to the web and a laptop for more
advanced operations and after that they won't invest in any more
computers. Neither the laptop nor the tablet is suitable as central
media server in the house.
Which is why it doesn't make sense to built a system based on a need to
have a central media server running on a Windows computer. Apple has
already understood this, eventually everyone else is going to get it
too. It wasn't possible to do this back in 2005 when the Squeezebox
Classic was made, because the hardware was too expensive back then, but
the situation is completely differently today, just look at what kind of
processors we currently have in tablets and mobile phones.
