In my opinion Logitech should just sell a Squeezeplug-like device into
which you can plug a couple of usb disks and it automagically discovers
your music and runs SBS.

Nicholas75, this is why many of us run a small Linux box. It can
provide the 24/7 SBS with low power usage, tiny footprint, and it's
simple. My Dockstar running SBS is perfect in this regard.

My local hifi shops sell Sonos, and not Logitech, and when I ask them
why they say it's easier for the average consumer to setup. But they
say Logitech is better value for money...

With regard to mass market appeal, for many people it is sufficient to
have one mp3player/ipod/xbox/ps3 connected to their living room hifi to
play music.

The big differentiator of Squeezebox it allows multi-room music. And
Logitech seems to not be highlighting this fact anymore. Sonos do...

When friends come round and see my Squeezeboxes playing in sync around
my house then they start asking about it. And sometimes end up buying
one themselves.
