I think it depends on what kind of artists you like and how you browse
your library, for some people the 7.5 solution is better and for other
(most?) people the 7.6 solution is preferred as it shows all
contibutions and doesn't hide some of them as it did in 7.5.
The only scenario I can see with 7.6 that can be problematic is if a
user have a contibutor that acts as composer on 3 albums and as artist
on 300 albums and that user feels that its important to be able to go
from one album this contributor has composed to another album this
contibutor has composed.
However, I think most users just want to get all music related to this
contributor, independent if the contributor acted as composer or artist
on it.
The 7.6 release has introduced a lot of other changes and some of them
a lot more serious than this one from a usability perspective, so in my
mind the word "unacceptable" is too strong, at least as long as there
are open issues regarding unacceptable scanning performance, scanner
crashes, missing artwork, ...
