There is't much unusual about my setup. It's running on a system running Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit. The only thing slightly out of the ordinary is that I move the cache, logs and playlist folder using command-line arguments. That shouldn't matter to the installer, because the prefs folder is still in the standard location and the installer shouldn't need to know where the cache or logs are located. Only the LMS program deals with those. I ran the same experiment by installing 7.8.0-1377698405. From the time of clicking the installer until the server is ready to be used (by refreshing the web interface until it comes up) is 45 seconds. But the installer continues do show the progress bar creeping along and shows only the following text: Waiting for services to be configured and started... Logitech Media Server for another 2:55.
