_You_ wrote (or configured) the installer. Should it make any
difference? I might try it otherwise. Since I know those directories are
not even created by the installer, then I can't see a reason why it
should be a problem. In any case, it shouldn't take 3 minutes to deal
with, unless the installer is searching through every file on the system
drive for something.

I listed in my last post *exactly* what the installer shows on screen
during this time period:

Waiting for services to be configured and started...
Logitech Media Server

That's all. On two lines, with a slowly moving progress bar beneath it.

I'm not having a crisis. I just thought you were interested in fixing or
improving things that maybe you weren't allowed to previously. If I can
actually find what's giving the installer constipation, maybe you'd
still be interested in doing so.
