There is't much unusual about my setup. It's running on a system running Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit. The only thing slightly out of the ordinary is that I move the cache, logs and playlist folder using command-line arguments. That shouldn't matter to the installer, because
"should" is nice. But did you ever try it without those modifications? It might make the difference after all. For whatever reason. And please answer my question from my previous mail, if this is really troubling you.

Are 3 minutes really worth the crisis you have? Just leave it alone. Do something more interesting than watching a progress bar. Eg. listen to the music which is available after 45 seconds. Or record a movie how you install Office in a shorter time ;-).
Or get an unpacker (http://innounp.sourceforge.net/) which would easily just extract the files from the installer instead of running the full installer. You could easily script this.
