If I hover over the magnifying glass in the lef-hand panel header bar,
the search widget doesn't become visible like it used to, so I have to
click the search icon, move mouse over the search field that pops into
left-hand pane (a bit slower to use).
Upon entering a term to search for, and pressing return, nothing
happens.
Make sure you wipe your browser's cache. Web development sucks in that
you want the browser to cache as much as possible in normal use, but not
while working on it...
Are you using the Default skin as-is? Because I use a custom skin
derived from Default in which I see exactly the same two problems. I
haven't yet tracked down the issue, but I figure it's my problem to fix.
Oh, that's interesting! How do you customize the skin? Are you creating
your own skin, inheriting from Default? Use your browser's JS console
(or firebug, if using firefox) to see whether you get errors there.
