Speed of the interface, I think is what he meant. It's not really meant
to address system responsiveness, per se. It just puts the search
results closer. Use the search box on Wikipedia to see the intention.
It's pretty standard stuff.

It's not a loss of anything. You still have the same search
functionality when you hit enter or click the magnifying glass.

As I said above, it's great for finding things where there's just one,
or a couple of potential results. IMO, it works very well for finding
artists or albums, as long as you use a unique enough search term.
