I have a feeling, though, that an attempt to fix this might also suppress compilation albums where the artist _does_ appear as an album artist. Something to watch out for. We already have 'this bug' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=18130), which demonstrates the challenges with the current database organization.
