I run a "look for new and changed" scan every night at 5AM on my server. Prior to 7.9, these scans would take 20-30 minutes and about the same when I would do "only rescan playlists" manually. Now under 7.9, both of these take almost two hours. What's the deal? I did change the performance setting to Maximum under the memory config. I was hoping it would make scans faster, not slower.
Here's the scan summary from last night's scheduled scan for new and changed: > > Discovering files/directories: \\GANDALF\Music (32960 of 32960) > Complete 00:10:28 > Removing deleted files: \\GANDALF\Music (39 of 39) Complete 00:00:11 > Discovering playlists: \\GANDALF\Music\_.Playlists (47 of 47) Complete > 00:00:10 > Scanning new playlists: \\GANDALF\Music\_.Playlists (39 of 39) Complete > 00:11:32 > MusicIP Import (24 of 24) Complete 00:00:00 > Album cover lookup (18 of 18) Complete 00:00:08 > Artist picture lookup (1052 of 1052) Complete 00:47:51 > Building full text index (7 of 7) Complete 00:26:19 > Find updated coverart files (37 of 37) Complete 00:00:03 > Database Optimize (2 of 2) Complete 00:06:57 > > The server has finished scanning your media library. > Total Time: 01:43:39 (Tuesday, May 26, 2015 / 6:48) > Looks like artist picture lookup and building full text index is taking the longest. Why do these take so long just for new and changed or playlist rescan? *Sue* -"If you're happy and you know it turn the volume up and 'blow it out' (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Features/Exhibit+A/Blow+It+Out)."- 1 Touch | 2 Booms | 6 Radios | 1 Duet | 1 SB2 HP Proliant N54G | Logitech Media Server 7.8 | iPhone & iPad w/ iPeng Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) | 'Rhapsody' (http://www.rhapsody.com/members/mesue) 'My Journey to Musical Bliss' (http://www.geekintheforest.com/musical-bliss/) | 'Squeezebox is Dead.
