i just had some very strange issue (of curse of some experimentals from me) and stopped my server, kicked all the files from the prefs folder (except my favorites.opml to /dev/null) and started lms again. After starting the webgui, it want me to do all the things like playlist and media folder and also shows me the "update available". Cause i didnt tell the server to rescan (i didnt delete the cache folder) i didnt rescan or update. After a stop & start server again - everything looks fine like it should - but the update available message is gone.
