Hi Jan, sorry to hijack the thread, but what are you using on *nix
these days for ripping, managing tags, etc? I need to update my
tools, and would like to start re-ripping my collection to FLAC.

Should I rip to a single FLAC file per CD, with a separate cue file?
Does that work well with slimserver? Having a text file per CD
holding the tags which I can edit in emacs is very appealing. Is
slimserver scanning significantly faster if it only has to read small
text file cue sheets? I presume I can easily edit the start/stop
times of tracks to cut out long silence for when they are played
individually? When playing a whole album is it possible to have it
just play the entire FLAC?

thanks,
Greg
