When prompted to upgrade to the latest version of BibDesk, I clicked  
the "View Release Notes."  I do actually read release notes.  Always  
like to see what BibDesk's hardworking developers have been up to!

Sadly, when the release notes window appeared, it was empty!  It  
contained only the "Download" button at the bottom, no text.  :- 
(  Thought I should mention it!
