Apparently I wasn't clear enough: this would be separate from Local-Url and any custom file fields you have defined. You could keep using the path-based system, or migrate to the new system with aliases, which would be a one-time operation. There would be no main file field, and you wouldn't set a field name/type for files in prefs. Fields would be added dynamically as needed. So you drop two files on the view, and one is assigned to Bdsk-File-1, and the other is Bdsk-File-2 in the BibTeX file. All you see is the file's name, and its icon. This assumes you're not already using that naming scheme for something else :). Same idea goes for adding files via AS. >On Aug 28, 2007, at 3:06 PM, Christiaan Hofman wrote: > >> I'm adding files to local-url given an identifier with applescript, >> so I agreee with Alexander that at least there shlould be a way to >> set a local file using a path. But that could be something like >> adding a local file given a path/url. You'd definitely be able to add files using a path/URL, and query files for their current path. The field index could also be displayed with each file, if you need to get a particular file with AS. -- adam ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
